Maqui Films is a Chilean-based film production company focused on developing intimate and innovative works with a local identity and a global reach.

Founders

Fernando Saldivia Yáñez

Film director and producer based between Puerto Williams, Chile, and Chicago, USA. He obtained his BA from Carleton College, MN and his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

His film work has been shown in multiple festivals and spaces including the Chicago International Film Festival, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, SANFIC, the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, and the Gene Siskel Film Center. His latest feature film, Brief Space of a Time, received the Vox Populi award at the 62 Ann Arbor Film Festival.

Ignacio Cavieres Maragaño

Film producer and independent musician. He obtained an MsC in Marketing from the Adolfo Ibáñez University in Chile.

He started his career in 2019 working for the renowned animation studio Punkrobot, receiving production credits for projects Wow Lisa, Guitar and Drum, Alfadeca, Angry Birds Bubble Trouble, and the acclaimed Star Wars: Visions 2 - In the Stars.

He is currently pursuing graduate studies in Executive Production at ECAM, the School of Cinematography and Audiovisual of the Community of Madrid
